tim wins VCÖ Mobility Prize for Upper Austria

10. October 2019

Shortly after the launch of tim’s first two mobility nodes*, the tim project in Linz and Graz was awarded the VCÖ Mobility Prize for Upper Austria. tim – timely. intelligent. mobile. – has been connecting public and private transport on the Linz Hauptplatz and Wiener Straße since the beginning of September. The project was submitted under the name “KombiMo III – Combined mobility for everyone (tim in Linz and Graz)”.

LINZ AG Managing Director Dr.in Jutta Rinner accepted the award together with Gerhard Amtmann, division manager of the project partner Holding Graz. The award ceremony was held at the ÖBB-Technische Services GmbH plant in Linz.

“With tim, LINZ AG LINIEN is focusing on two major trends: ‘sharing instead of owning’ and digitisation. Mobile services and means of transport are shared via a specially developed app and a smart user card. Receiving the VCÖ Mobility Prize for Upper Austria indicates that we’re well on track”, Jutta Rinner said happily.

LINZ AG LINIEN as a multimodal mobility provider

tim is a modern complement to public transport and for LINZ AG LINIEN, another step towards becoming a multimodal mobility provider. In addition to existing public transport services, the mobility nodes also offer stationary (e-)carsharing, public e-charging stations, rental cars for longer trips, share taxi pickup points and parking spaces for bikes. The service has already established itself in Graz and has now been further developed for Linz.

The VCÖ (Verkehrsclub Österreich; ‘Austrian Traffic Club’) awards annual prizes for outstanding traffic projects. An expert jury first selects projects from across Austria, which are then subjected to an online public vote. tim Linz and tim Graz emerged as winners across Upper Austria.
