Questions about refuelling and charging tim's cars

After you have completed your trip and are back at the tim location, it’s time to charge your tim car.

First, plug the charging cable into the car and then plug it into the charging station. The car will only start charging after you hold your tim card up to the charging station to confirm. Since the confirmation message can vary depending on the charging station, it’s best to check if the car is actually charging. This will be indicated directly next to the charging plug by a flashing green light on the connector on the car.

After unlocking the tim e-car, you have about 30 seconds to remove the charging cable, first from the car and then from the charging station. This is a safety feature that prevents any unauthorised people from removing the charging cable from the car. If the charging cable still cannot be detached, simply lock and unlock the car again. The 30-second countdown will then start again.

To find out if the ID.3 is currently charging or if it has finished charging, check the LED display under the windscreen (also visible from outside the vehicle). It also shows how much the vehicle has been charged.

You can find the nearest e-charging stations here: https://e-tankstellen-finder.com/at/de/partner/index/linzag.

The charging time depends on several factors: the vehicle type, the battery status, the charging station and the charging cable. tim’s VW ID.3/VW e-Golf have a standard EU type 2 cable and charge the car at 11 kW from 0 to 100 per cent within 5-6 hours. You will also find a charging cable for household sockets in every ID.3/e-Golf. Please note that charging takes longer when using these.

Charging electric cars at publicly accessible charging stations with a tim card is only permitted for tim vehicles. Recharging a private e-vehicle with a tim card is not permitted. With the tim card, all Federal Association of Electromobility Austria charging stations (“BEÖ Ladestationen”) can be used throughout Austria. These can be found at https://e-tankstellen-finder.com/at/de/partner/index/linzag. You cannot charge electric cars outside of Austria with your tim card. Please inform yourself ahead of time about charging stations abroad, as you will bear the costs yourself.

You will also find a charging cable for household sockets in every ID.3/e-Golf. Please note that charging takes longer when using these.

Our conventional tim cars are petrol-operated. Before refuelling, please note the information on the inside of the tank cap.

Yes. The rental car must be returned to the respective tim location with a full tank. Otherwise, you will be charged the fuel cost, plus a processing fee in accordance with the price list.

IMPORTANT: Please check the information on the type of fuel that can be used.

In our case, this always only applies to fuel-operated cars. This is also indicated on the inside of the tank cap.

Public charging stations are available at every tim node. However, you need a valid charging card for public e-charging stations. You are not allowed to use the public charging stations to charge your own e-car with your tim card. You can find more information about this here:  https://www.linzag.at/portal/de/privatkunden/unterwegs/e_mobilitaet_1/unterwegs_laden/ladekarte

Just like fuel-operated vehicles, it is also important to pay attention to the current charge level with e-cars. Find out in advance about the existing charging infrastructure in the area in order to charge your car in good time.

If a technician needs to be called due to an empty battery, fees will apply, in accordance with the our GTCs.

Only when the tank is under 25 per cent full.

You can also check the exact fuel level on the booking platform under “Garage”. Please drive to the nearest petrol station and fill up the car. Questions about tim carsharing and rental cars

Carsharing vehicles and their price model are ideally suited for short- and medium-term use (e.g. running errands and transporting items). Each booking always includes the first 80 km, with each additional kilometre costing you €0.18. Charging costs and fuel costs are also included in carsharing.

Rental cars are more suitable for longer rental periods and greater distances. The distance you can travel with a rental car is unlimited and it comes with a full tank of petrol when you collect it, but you are also expected to return it with a full tank.

The optimal vehicle for your trip will be suggested to you on the booking platform. You can find the respective rates here.

With carsharing vehicles, you can drive 80 kilometres at the normal rate and 200 kilometres at the weekend flat rate without any additional costs. After that, each additional kilometre will cost €0.18. There is no mileage limit for rental cars. You can find the respective rates here.
