LINZ AG LINIEN: Additional location and modernised range of vehicles

Mobility service tim gets seventh multimodal node

(LINZ AG, 15th April, 2021)

The multimodal mobility concept tim (timely. intelligent. mobile.) has launched another location. Mayor Klaus Luger, Deputy Mayor Markus Hein, LINZ AG Managing Director Dr.in Jutta Rinner and LINZ AG LINIEN Managing Director Mag. Albert Waldhör were present for the launch of the new tim node on Simonystraße. The environmentally friendly mobility concept now boasts a total of seven locations. In addition to existing public transport services, the newly installed multimodal node also offers tim users the option of (e-)carsharing. Furthermore, users can look forward to receiving a free vehicle upgrade at the other existing locations when the store opens.

Near public transport, (e-)carsharing and more

The new location can be found at the intersection of Simonystraße and Wiener Straße. Both the Kleinmünchen-Auwiesen and Ebelsberg districts have now been integrated into the tim network too. Locals will benefit the most from this new mobility node. Like the other nodes, this one also offers stationary (e-)carsharing, public e-charging stations, rental cars, share taxi pickup points, parking spaces for bikes, and close proximity to public transport stops. The stops for tram lines 1 and 2 and for bus lines 11 and 19 are nearby.

Vehicle upgrade at these locations: New VW ID.3 now available to tim customers

With today’s launch of the seventh node, not only is the tim network continuing to expand, the modernisation of the tim fleet is also being kicked off. The mobility nodes will be upgraded with new vehicles one after the other. The new, fully electric VW ID.3 will complement the range of vehicles available at the mobility nodes. This new, eye-catching vehicle from VW has a range of up to 425 kilometres, thus offering even more flexibility for individual trips. For the time being, VW ID.3s will replace the VW e-Golfs at the Hauptplatz, Johannes Kepler University, Tabakfabrik and LINZ AG-Center locations. More are planned for the location in the future.

“We are very pleased that with the installation of the seventh node, we are now able to offer our numerous users a denser tim network, as well as an even more attractive range of vehicles, and thus a new driving experience”, said LINZ AG Managing Director Dr.in Jutta Rinner, who is responsible for the transport department.

Nine nodes by the end of 2021

The expansion of tim is continuing, even after launching the seventh node. Construction of the eighth node is already scheduled for early summer. By the end of 2021, a total of nine mobility locations will be available to the people of Linz.

Almost 370,000 kilometres covered with tim

Demand for tim is clear. As of the end of March, the mobility service was able to report more than 5,735 bookings. Furthermore, tim vehicles have already covered about 370,000 kilometres, which is the same as circling the globe over nine times. The service is also very popular with companies: more than 40 companies are already using tim for their company vehicle fleet and for business trips.
