More and more communities in the central Styrian region are focusing on sustainable, networked mobility. With the opening of the new tim node in Fernitz-Mellach, the 13th location in the districts of Graz-Umgebung and Voitsberg has already been opened. Together with the city of Graz, the regional sharing network continues to grow.

This time, the opening of the new location offered two reasons to celebrate: With Fernitz-Mellach, the tim regional system together with Graz already includes over 100 (e-)vehicles in sharing operation. Around 75% of the population in the Styrian Central Region already find a tim service in their community, which makes it possible to do without their own car or a second car.

Around 5,000 residents are benefiting from the new location in Fernitz-Mellach. From now on, a new Opel Mokka-e is available for rent in Schulgasse. At the same time, it is possible to charge private e-cars using DC fast chargers up to 150kW, as well as charging up to 44kW. In order to simplify the switch from bicycles to alternative forms of mobility, the public transport stop in front of the municipal office has also been supplemented by a covered bicycle parking facility including a bicycle service station.

The sharing offer is particularly tempting for people who already have an annual public transport pass or a KlimaTicket; at tim, they can save the annual fee of €50. “Everyone is invited to use the offer, from the population to our companies,” says Mayor Robert Tulnik enthusiastically.

The planning and support of the tim node was carried out by verkehrplus in cooperation with the company Prime Mobility. The total costs of the municipality were supported with 74,500 € from regional funds.
